保爾王的生日......(2005.03.12)

人逢喜事精神爽,尤其對「冷王之王中王」的保爾王來說,更是個特別的日子。因為他生日的時候要種樹……嗯,每天都要講冷笑話是Paul的專利,不過這天是他的生日,聚會喝酒兼大亂鬥就開始了,哈~我想這可能可以改個名字,叫「生日大亂鬥」,不過嘛……我們不是統統都大亂鬥的……

原本想說大家要提早慶祝,結果V公主遲至近三點才到,我們只好自己喝起來,Paul自己先開了暖胃酒,不過,這「暖胃酒」似乎也太強了那麼一點:

1.Château Leoville-Barton 1999(壽星Paul提供)
一開始的時候,帶有黑醋栗黑莓果木桶燒烤味,頗具均衡感的酒。入口後酸度略強,澀度適中,單寧隱隱含其中且已逐漸釋出,full-bodied,口感均衡(雖然酸度略強些)。尾韻帶甘草香,甘口,長度適中。後來Paul將之倒入醒酒器裡2.5小時,酸度已明顯提高,略帶西藥的苦味,單寧亂撞而感到粗澀,我覺得這酒已經醒過頭了,所以已經走下坡了,不然前段的感覺實在很不錯。

後來舍弟來了,我常被人家叫「大少」(我自己是不覺得啦,這樣子叫起來,好像我是玩絝子弟一樣),那舍弟當然就是「小少」了,呵~舍弟最近也逢喜事,咳咳……所以,開的酒也要符合心情,要有蝴蠂在飛的……

2.Domaine des Baumard Savennières “Clos de Papillon” 2001(苦主舍弟提供)
酒液呈略淺的金黃色,有透明感,very young。靜置時即有香蕉鳳梨檬檸味(C小姐說有波蘿蜜香氣),香氣適中;搖晃後香氣感覺月顯,有成熟的水果香氣。入口後口感適中,mid- to full-bodied,可能是因為溫度不足的關係而有酸度,果味豐沛,不過仍算是頗強壯的酒。尾韻長度適中,帶有柑橘味。去年的平安夜已經品飲過一次,那時候誤以為它是甜酒,結果搭配水果仍算不錯,這回是溫度不夠冰,下回希望不要再出錯才好,呵~

V公主直說想喝Bourgogne,壽星平生又最愛喝Margaux,呵~後來V公主還是開了一支Bourgogne來喝:

3.Domaine Drouhin Larose Clos de Vougeot 1996(苦主V公主提供)
喝的時候先在醒酒器裡躺了一個小時了。酒液呈寶石紅色,略偏蕃茄紅,邊緣仍strong。靜置時有紅莓果草莓大地藥草味,頗具Clos de Vougeot的感覺,搖晃後香氣更綻放了。入口後感覺頗有酸度,澀度明顯,單寧略感粗澀,酒體適中而顯得不均衡,略有苦味,香氣以莓果味和大地落葉氣息為主,推測可能在保存上有點問題吧。尾韻長度適中。

喝完了酒體適中的Bourgogne,下一支酒又回到BordeauxC小姐開的喔:

4.Château Haut-Bergey 1999(苦主C小姐提供)
酒液泛紫藍光,呈紫紅色,very young。靜置時有黑莓果醬大地、酵咖啡焦糖和木桶味,有甜美的感覺,香氣頗濃郁;搖晃後香氣明顯且更綻放。入口後感覺略有酸度,單寧較明顯,且有澀度,full-bodied,結構強壯堅實,但口感仍略感甜美。尾韻以較濃的黑莓果味為主,長度略短些。整體來說,這酒頗討喜,不過複雜度較差了點,頗濃郁。

後來Jason來了,帶了好吃的甜點,我也就把已經冰了許久的甜酒開來喝:

5.Dr. Loosen Wehlener Sommenuhr Reisling Auslese 2001(苦主小戶我提供)
酒液呈淺金黃色,有透明感,very young。靜置時即有鳳梨、檸檬、蘋果、洋梨味,香氣清新優雅、怡人,且略帶有蜂蜜的香氣;搖晃後香氣仍維持著,感覺頗細緻。入口後口感較甜,酸度適中爽口,帶有蘋果、洋梨味,略有蜂蜜和花香在口中,mid-bodied,是很輕盈細緻的好酒。尾韻帶有美妙的熱帶水果甜味,略帶糖漬水果味,長度略長些。第一次喝到頗像樣的德國白酒,口感果然美值得玩很久很久哩!

之後NoelZ小姐都來了,原本我的甜酒要搭配薔薇派的,不過此時經喝差不多了,Noel還開了自己的一支加州ZinfandelV公主也開了自己的Green Point Shiraz,不過這支Shiraz一開始喝起來有點像過熟的Cabernet,唉,真不知道是喝太多,還是因為自己經驗值太低……

發覺到自己越來越累了,但是還有其它的客人在那裡,書記官先行告退,後來的大亂鬥就不知道結果如何了,呵~

Château Leoville-Barton 1999

Dry tannin and a backward, austere, muscular, brooding personality characterize Leoville Barton's 1999. However, it is packed with grip, body, and depth. Give it 5-6 years of cellaring and hope the tannin melts away sufficiently for the fruit to come forward. It should last for two decades, but will it ever be balanced?

Black licorice and roasted coffee aromas. Medium- to full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long finish. Tight wine. Give it time. Solid Barton. Best after 2004. 19,165 cases made. (JS)

Château Haut-Bergey 1999

The 1999 Haut Bergey is a classic Graves. It is extraordinarily complex aromatically, light on its feet in the mouth as well as a model of elegance and symmetry. The color is dark ruby, and the splendid nose reveals notes of cigar tobacco intermixed with plum, cherry, and currant fruit, grilled herbs, and roasted nuts. It is medium-bodied, with sweet fruit on the attack, and an expansive Burgundian-like finish with light tannin and enough acidity to provide grip, freshness, and delineation. This terrific effort needs to be consumed during its first 7-12 years of life.

Interesting aromas of berries, tobacco and minerals, with hints of cappuccino. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Very nice wine. Best after 2004. 4,330 cases made. (JS)

Apples, pears, and raspberries burst from the glass of the 2001 Riesling Auslese Wehlener Sonnenuhr. Light to medium-bodied and velvety-textured, this is a thick Riesling packed with red berries. Its plush character leads to a long, expressive finish studded with orange peels, cherries, and tangy limes. Projected maturity: 2006-2017.
